The Acessa procedure is a minimally invasive, outpatient treatment for uterine fibroids that uses radiofrequency ablation (targeted heat) to destroy fibroid tissue. Guided by a laparoscopic camera and ultrasound, a surgeon inserts a small needle tip directly into the fibroid to deliver controlled thermal energy. This destroys the fibroid cells while leaving the surrounding healthy uterus intact, allowing the body to naturally absorb the tissue over time to reduce heavy bleeding and pelvic pain.
